The Past

I'm happy you decided to know a little about me. Graduating from high school I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do with my career. School pretty much would grind into our heads that the only option after was to go to college and make a good life. I wasn't sure if that's what I wanted at the time so I explored other possibilities. The strange idea came to mind of, "Hey, why not try to make music." But I had no idea where to begin. Luckily, I was part of a big group chat on Steam, for a video game that was under development and I got in pretty close with some of the developers of that game. One of these developers was the musician for the game music. His music was amazing and he'd been making video game audio masterpieces for about five years in the game industry. One day while being invited to a voice chat session with them I asked him, "How do you make such great music?" At the time, it felt like I'd won the lottery by his reply. He was even kind enough to answer questions I had about it, and show me some basic functionality and ropes the of the DAW.

At first it was a ton of information to take in and I honestly didn't have the education or understandings of how everything worked. Thus began the excruciating process all producers go through. The learning and experimentation phase. I started off with the name That Empty Space, the reason for this name I won't share here, it's a pretty sad and depressing story. I made some basic less than average songs. Eventually changed my name to Hybrid Soundz because I drifted toward mixing different EDM styles together in my productions. I stuck with that name for a good while. My music eventually started to sound way better than when I'd started, but eventually wanted something that was more unique and different. Eventually I met a very special someone, who pulled me out of the depths of despair, literally not figuratively. She changed my life, so I decided that my new name should be something involving her. Thus RJLYSS was born! I have stuck with that name ever since

The Present

Currently other than my music ambition, I'm pursuing a bachelors degree in computer science. I've already taken a good amount of web development courses which is how I was able to make this website.

What Else?

• I'm a freelancer in website development, price varies depending on the work you need done.
• I'm in a long process of developing my own game. It's just me so it takes a while.
• I'm always willing to give some advice to a fellow producer, some say I should charge, I say I won't, kindness is free.
• I'd love to make music for some games.
• I enjoy helping others, only when the individual isn't taking advantage.
• Honesty, truth and accountability are my motto.
